Vintage Velvet and Fur Trim Coat | Late 1960s-Early 1970s
An exceptional vintage velvet coat dating to the late 1960s or early 1970s. Made from an unusually plush velvet with amazing depth and lustre, the fabric has a silky softness and gives the coat a rich appearance rarely found in later pieces.
The shape falls in an A-line with softly gathered shoulders and a high collar that can be worn fully fastened or folded open. Genuine fur trim finishes the hem, with contrasting fur-trimmed cuffs.
The interior is fully lined in a paisley cotton fabric and has a large internal pocket, an unusual detail for a women’s coat of this period.
A beautifully made winter coat that remains incredibly well preserved for its age.
