Vintage 1960s Towelling Mini Dress | High Neck | Graphic Stripe | Unworn
Rare late 1960s deadstock towelling mini dress, unworn with original zip and vibrant striped pattern.
This late 1960s towelling cover-up is such a great example of the era’s move toward bold colour, graphic stripes and streamlined silhouettes. Made from plush cotton towelling, the fabric retains a rich, soft pile and presents beautifully, with the vibrant stripes remaining completely fresh. It’s the dramatic high neckline that makes this piece something special. It gives the piece a very mod feel and takes it beyond a typical beach cover-up, making it just as wearable today as it was then. Finished with its original fully functioning back zip and preserved in deadstock condition, it is a difficult style to find in such untouched condition.
I particularly love how contemporary this piece feels despite being over fifty years old. The clean shape, saturated colour palette and sculptural collar would not look out of place in a modern designer collection, while still retaining all the charm of its late 1960s origins. A rare treasure.
