Rare Early Walt Disney Productions Mickey Mouse Ringer T-shirt Dating Most Likely to the Early 1960s.

An exceptionally scarce survivor from the Walt Disney Productions era, discovered untouched amongst a group of forgotten garments buried at the bottom of an old private estate storage box alongside early burlesque type dancewear and very primitive and heavily constructed cotton undergarments of the same and earlier periods. 

This piece has been photographed deliberately as an object and document rather than disguised or over-restored. The fabric, stitching, wear and deterioration are central to its authenticity and rarity.

Constructed in an extremely lightweight semi-sheer cotton jersey with unusual dark ribbed collar and sleeve bindings unlike later commercial Disney ringer tees. The internal stitching and primitive seam construction strongly suggest earlier manufacture, while the softer, simplified Mickey Mouse graphic predates the brighter and more commercial Disney tourist pieces more commonly found from the 1970s onward.

Features original “Walt Disney Productions” print beneath the graphic and original “Mascot Sportswear Cotton” label.

The fabric has aged beautifully with extensive natural wear throughout, including thinning cotton, small holes, age spotting, seam stress, distortion and fading acquired through genuine decades of use and storage. The graphic remains remarkably strong considering age.

A highly unusual collector’s piece that sits somewhere between fashion, ephemera and textile archive.
