Pristine 1950s Abstract Print Dress with Sculptural Collar
Rare and exceptionally preserved 1950s Riki Reed dress in an immaculate condition, appearing virtually untouched by time. Constructed from two contrasting fabrics, the dress combines a crisp printed cotton bodice with a heavier textured woven skirt, creating a striking architectural silhouette characteristic of late 1950s design moving toward the modernism of the early 1960s.
The abstract monochrome print throughout gives the piece an unexpectedly contemporary feel, while the exaggerated sculptural collar and sharply defined waistline bring a distinctly futuristic edge. The matching belt remains beautifully preserved with no visible wear, further emphasising the remarkable condition of the set.
The skirt is finished with covered buttons running through the front, echoing the print placement and tailored structure of the bodice. Every detail remains crisp and highly saturated, from the deep black cotton to the textured ivory weave of the skirt panel. Labelled Riki Reed. A genuinely standout collector piece that remains incredibly wearable today.
