Late 80s / Early 90s Textured Pink Sleeveless Dress - Sculptural Surface Detail

Late 1980s / Early 1990s sculptural dress in the most incredible saturated pink. An exceptionally constructed piece that feels closer to wearable art than a conventional dress. Layers upon layers of raw-edged chiffon appear to cascade down the front and shoulders in heavy textured ribbons, creating movement and dimension from every angle. The contrast between the soft candy pink tone and the aggressive, almost deconstructed texture gives the piece an interesting editorial feel.

Though outside my usual era focus, this was impossible to leave behind. It photographs beautifully- I couldn’t stop, and has the presence of an archival fashion school sample, runway prototype or hand-finished boutique piece. Unlabelled and possibly hand sewn. The craftsmanship and design focus are immediately evident in person. Styled here with heavy leather boots to offset the sweetness of the colour and bring out its darker edge.

Appears unworn or very lightly handled only. No signs of laundering noted and presents in excellent vintage condition. Fastens with a concealed back zip. The fabric appears to be chiffon or a chiffon-blend layered in thick sculptural strips throughout the front and shoulders.

Best suited to a size S-M depending on desired fit and styling. Can be worn fitted or slightly loose for more drama.
