Late 70s / Early 80s Vera Mont West Germany Two Piece Ruffled Skirt Set

A beautifully made late 1970s to early 1980s Vera Mont two-piece skirt set, made in West Germany, and one of my favourites in the recent collection. 

This is one of those pieces that is difficult to find now, particularly as a complete set. The blouse and skirt are made from a crisp striped fabric that holds its shape exceptionally well, giving the ruffles and sleeves real structure. The black lace trim adds interest without overwhelming the design.

The blouse has a high neckline finished with lace, oversized ruffles across the front and back, full sleeves with gathered cuffs and a concealed back zip. The matching skirt sits high on the waist with soft pleating and a full shape that moves beautifully while holding its form.

Although unmistakably late 70s to early 80s, the design feels current and has the kind of shape seen in modern designer collections. It is an easy piece to wear together as intended or to separate and style individually.

Made in West Germany.
