Late 1930s-1940s Handmade Floral Cotton Skirt - Original Metal Zip

A rare and beautifully preserved example of late 1930s-1940s home dressmaking, this floral cotton skirt has remained remarkably unchanged by time.

The fabric is a tightly woven cotton with a matte finish, retaining exceptional colour saturation and strength. There are no holes, no thinning, no wear to stress points, and no fading - a rarity for a piece of this age. It has clearly been stored with great care.

Construction details strongly support its early date:

• An original metal Aero zipper with substantial teeth, smooth and fully functional, presenting almost as new despite its age
