1970s Dark Brown Cotton Prairie Dress
Authentic 1970s prairie dress in crisp brown cotton with contrasting striped bib panel, striped hem ruffle and cream crochet lace trim throughout.
A nicely balanced example of the prairie trend, with a darker palette and graphic stripe detailing that gives it a slightly less traditional feel. The sleeves are finished with elasticated cuffs and can be worn pushed higher for a fuller shape. One thing I particularly like about this dress is that it doesn’t read as costume-like. The dark brown, cream and stripe combination keeps it grounded and much easier to style with boots, leather jackets or heavier accessories than many prairie dresses from the period.
Possibly home sewn, with excellent construction and attention to detail. No maker’s label present.
Measurements to be added.
