1960s Shearling Lined Collarless Workers Coat - Olive Herringbone Trim
A rare 1960s shearling-lined coat, beautifully worn and just the sort of piece I hunt for and love. This would have been a daily jacket- a part of a man.
This piece stands entirely on its own. It has to be my favourite piece in the menswear collection. The clean neckline and vertical placket give it almost monastic presence.
The interior is fully lined in shearling that remains soft and substantial. It has clearly been worn hard and that history only enhances its character. I imagine wood being chopped or horses ridden in this coat. It is so very masculine and secretly sexy.
Details include:
- Full shearling lining
- Two-tone construction (muted rose brown outer with olive herringbone placket and hem trim)
- Collarless neckline
- Press-stud decoration down front
- Ribbed cuffs with tab detail
Condition:
Well worn vintage condition. The shearling remains plush and in excellent shape. Both cuffs appear to be missing original buttons. Some general signs of wear consistent with age, which only add to its authenticity and appearance. Please see photographs for reference.
Unlabelled.
This is not a mass-produced piece. The shape is distinctive, slightly unconventional, and deeply cool.
