1950s Olive Velvet Evening Bag and Sage Gloves - Mid-Century Cocktail Set

An exceptional mid-century evening pairing discovered together, preserved as a set for decades.

 A deeply textured olive velvet clutch with woven dimensional detailing and gold-tone frame and chain, paired with elegant sage gloves that catch the light with a gold shot sheen. They can photograph more yellow under artificial light but in person they read as sage with gentle gold undertones. They appear silk-like but are most likely a mid-century nylon or rayon blend with slight structure and stretch.

The interior of the bag is lined in vibrant aqua satin, an unexpected contrast that speaks to its era.

 

Both pieces remain in excellent vintage condition, appearing hardly used:

• Velvet remains plush and dimensional.
• Gloves show no structural flaws and appear almost unworn with no stretch or signs of use. 

 

 

After being discovered together and preserved as a set for years, they are being sold as one complete cocktail pairing.
