1940s Hand Embroidered Satin Western Shirt

An original 1940s Western shirt in a heavy satin with hand embroidered floral detailing throughout the yokes and cuffs.

The satin has exceptional weight and lustre, with a depth of colour rarely seen in later examples. Features include embroidered front and back yokes, embroidered cuffs, decorative smile pockets and original red buttons.

An incredibly well-preserved piece with strong colour, no fading, no thinning to the fabric and no losses to the embroidery.

Condition

Excellent vintage condition.

The embroidery is bright and intact with no losses. The satin has very strong colour and sheen with no fading, staining or thinning.

There are two extremely minor runs to the satin, shown in the final photographs. These were difficult to locate and photograph and are not readily noticeable when wearing. I had to play with the colour in the photographs in order for the runs to be seen. 

The shirt presents beautifully and is glorious to photograph. An exceptional piece.
