1940s Blown Glass Soap Bubble Necklace | Iridescent Glass Beads | Mid Century Jewellery
A delicate 1940s blown glass necklace featuring translucent glass beads with an iridescent “soap bubble” finish.
The glass appears clear at first glance, catching the light to reveal soft flashes of blue, green, pink and violet. The effect is quite subtle in natural light and more pronounced under stronger lighting. The beads are loosely threaded onto a silver tone chain with a strong clasp in excellent condition.
Pieces of this type are increasingly difficult to find in excellent condition. The survival of such fragile glass beads over more than eighty years is truly remarkable, making this a very special piece.
A perfect alternative to traditional pearls and great to style with both vintage and modern wardrobes.
